The Machine

So we're here, on Earth, all together. And yet we seem to think we're all on our own separate missions. We go through life on our own paths, always saying how if you want something done right then you have to do it yourself. We become conditioned by this dog eat dog environment and look at forget where we came from. We forget where the heart is. We are all one in the same machine working toward the same goal.

Look at where the world is today and think about why we are this way. So many conflicting interests. Its like we're aliens to each other. We have to look past the surface. Its all clouding our judgment. Things are not as they seem. We each have our own story and yet we don't seem to share. Its like not even we know our own story. We just think its all unimportant but it isn't. Every second of your life matters because it becomes your future. You are being molded into what you will contribute to society. And look at what is being contributed. Strife, poverty, pain. This is what it has come to. There is so much beauty in the world and yet we can't see past all the hurt we cause one another.

There is a fungus in northern Oregon that was seemingly a bunch of individual mushrooms. They found it was one giant organism. It all works together to sustain its life. This is exactly what we as humans are. Seemingly independent people when in fact we are all one in the same. Together. We have to all work toward sustaining life as we know it. Its all a big machine and we all have to do our part. We each have our own abilities and it is each of our duties to fulfill these duties. And they aren't just for benefiting ourselves. They are for benefiting others as well. There are some things we just can't do on our own. That is why we have each other. We must use these abilities for the good of others. It is our responsibility.

Everything we do is connected in one way or another. Whether its tying your shoe or saving a life, it all matters in some way because its all serving a purpose. We all serve a purpose because of the things we do. So why not take it a step further and help each other out in what we must do? Try not to be so hostile when someone does something nice for you. And when someone does, try to do the same for someone else. Work toward that goal of ultimately thriving. Ghandi said to be the change you want to see in the world. Nothing is stopping you. Go for it!

And one last thing, don't read this and think its just wishful thinking because that's the kind of thinking that hinders progress. You can do it. Have hope because that is the most powerful weapon of all. Hope can do so much. If you expect something to happen hard enough and you work toward it, it can and will happen. Have hope. Believe in the world and yourself. The human spirit can do a lot more than it lets on.
